How can you even confuse the two? "Gay" doesn't even sound like "blind."
Here's my theory: She suspects her co-anchor of being gay and she was probably just thinking to herself, "He has got to be gay!" so when she started talking, 'gay' slipped out because it was on her mind.
But just in case her co-anchor frequents my blog - I could be TOTALLY wrong!
