Last Week's QOTW: It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Had to wait to post this one until I finished with the lights. Which apparently puts me in the category of decorating on December 1st.

The roof is dying to have some lights added up there but since I'm trying my best not to fall off a roof this holiday season it's not going to happen - because we all know that the first thing that would happen as soon as I step foot on that roof would be for me to fall off of it!

Maybe Keri's husband can swing by and throw them up for me!

It's funny how every year while putting up the lights I always think of the that scene from Christmas Vacation and hope it doesn't happen to me.

Now that I've got the outside lights up ( . . . and working!) , it's on to the Christmas tree!

I voted for right after Thanksgiving (because I had really good intentions!), but sadly, not much is done around here. Brad did hang lights on the house almost a whole week ago. That is impressive for him!

Good job on the lights. I like the red and green you added from last year!

And, stay off the roof. Maybe you can come to Morgan's birth NOT doped up on Lortab this time:) Ha!

Wade--You can still add gutter lights. Just get one of those extension poles with clips. Works great, even I've been able to do it for several years. Best thing is you don't get anywhere near a ladder!!!!!! Yard looks GREAT!

This is the first year that Cameron hasn't fallen off a roof or ladder. He still has about 4 more days worth of work left and then he can officially close out the 2007 season!! WAHOO... Sad to say we still don't have lights on our house though. Maybe soon. Looks good Wade.

At one point yesterday, my husband balanced on two big logs to hang our icicles. Just how I want to spend Christmas--in the ER! (Thankfully, he survived the wobbling.)

Lucky you! Cal's coming to Fort Worth for the Bell Helicopter Bowl! My team's off to San Diego, so I'll be watching them from my couch this year.

Hey, just returning the lurk. I like the lights. Tie a rope to the car in the driveway and sling it over the peak so you can be safe. Just... make sure you have all the car keys in your pocket. Happy decorating!

Nice photo, Wade. I really like the tree decorations and overall you did a fine job. Okay, I jumped on the (early) Christmas bandwagon with my latest...

Hey Jannel,

A flag? Ha! That's great! All of us suckers are stumbling over our frontyard shrubs and falling off our roofs while you just go out and stick a flag in your yard!

Given how crazy things are for you guys, a flag is an appropriate hall pass for Christmas decor!

Hey Shannon,

Don't knock 'sitting in the L & D Waiting Room doped up on Lortab while your sis-n-law gives birth' until you tried it!

Quick question though, does Scott & White have wheel chairs!

:)

Hey Suz,

Ha! I love how Christmas Vacation is slowly taking the place of 'more traditional' Christmas movies like Wonderful Life and Christmas Story - it's so wrong!

Glad you like it Helen!

Hey Aunt B,

I saw those gutter lights you're talking about. I should probably give it a try. But knowing me, I'll find a way to Tim Taylor it up and bring my whole gutter system down!

Hey Keri,

I'm thinking good thoughts for Cameron for ya'!

Hey See_Dub,

Talk about great customer service! The first year I adopt Cal as my D-1 of choice and they blow a national ranking just so that they can come play in Fort Worth!

I might even go! And what's the name of the bowl again?

Hey Lawn,

Ha! I can see so many end-results to that scenario that would bring about my untimely demise!

Probably still worth the try though!
