I can read it but I also was a reading/2nd grade teacher for 6 years and most of the 7 year olds I knew wrote in some form of code! :) It is hard to believe that you can read it and scan for meaning without getting caught up on spelling.
Thanks for your help Wade!
I could read it... but man do i wish my brain thought that fast in Spanish too. That would definitely make life alot easier these days :)
I could read it, too, but as a teacher of English as a Second (or third) language students - I think this only works for your first language skills! - Sarah Booker (Hi, by the way- I've been reading your blog for a while)
Hey Keri,
This would explain how so many dyslexic students go undiagnosed - they have adapted to reading words that are misspelled in their own mind.
Their brain is still able to comprehend the correct meaning of a word eventhough it is registered with an incorrect spelling.
The real problem occurs with numbers - 2457 is not the same number as 2547.

Hey Laura,
I know how you feel! I transferred to a poli-sci university in France for a semester to finish my degree requirements and I remember the time and place when I actually asked myself a question in French. It's a great moment indeed!
I envy you since your Spanish would be much more useful to me these days than my French!

Hey Sarah!
How ya' been?!?! Great to hear from you!
Yeah, I can see how this would be kinda tricky for non-English speakers - but I'm sure they could pull off the same trick in thier native language. That is, unless they've got some tricked-up character language like Manderin!
Thanks all for stopping by,
Wade
I have no idea what your blog said today...something about monkeys and their own poop? I just don't know.
Brad
I'm smart!!
Hey Brad,
Let me help you a bit - it says, "This is your brain on monkey poop."
(I may giggle after my own comments but yours had me rolling!)

Yes I can read it. That is why when you proofread you are supposed to read backwards! You are more apt to catch misspelled words or other mistakes by reading backwards!
Sharon (B-Mom)
Hey B-Mom,
You're right! When I read it backwards I don't have a clue what it says!
Maybe that was Brad's problem!
Thanks for stopping by,
W
